About Steve Lane

Having operated in a corporate environment for nearly 25 years, reaching senior levels in Sales, Marketing, Training and Process Improvement, I found that I had become increasingly frustrated with the internal politics and energy-sapping bureaucracy that is all too common in larger organisations. I reached the inevitable conclusion that the only way to control my own destiny was to run my own business.

Utilising the core skills and experience that I had gained in corporate life, I set up my consultancy business in 2001 and worked with large financial institutions to help them identify the root cause of operational problems and effectively implement beneficial change. I also quickly learned the basics of running a successful business – as well as the issues, the frustrations and the barriers that commonly impact performance and inhibit growth. I put all of this learning and experience to good use in 2004 when I was invited to take the reigns of a new business start-up, and managed to achieve the growth targets in half of the original 3-year timescale.

I not only get a real buzz from running my own business, but also from helping other small/medium sized business owners achieve their own goals and aspirations which are, not surprisingly, often very similar to my own. We all strive to have more time to do the things we enjoy, to realise a level of income that recognises our efforts, and to ensure that we retire when we want to without worrying about the finances.
