The Golf Lesson that Changed a Life
As a keen golfer and sportsman Leigh Dorling spent years buying all the best equipment, reading instruction manuals and practicing what he thought was best - getting nowhere fast.
A lesson with his local golf pro in Derby changed his life - and ultimately the working lives of many others.
Leigh reasoned that if it’s good enough for the world’s greatest sportsmen: Tiger Woods, Lance Armstrong, Shane Warne and David Beckham to use a coach then it was good enough for him. But the coaching lesson taught Leigh a lot more than just how to improve his swing, more than a new technique – it provided motivation, awareness, focus, an honest assessment, guidance, new ideas and long term support - exactly what many business managers are missing but is absolutely necessary if they are to meet their business goals and personal aspirations.
This was when he realised he could no longer ignore the real “golf lesson.” With over 25 years working at Director level for major blue chip organisations and as a business owner in his own right, Leigh recognised he had all the commercial experience necessary to provide a business coaching service for small and medium sized businesses.
But just like any professional, Leigh needed more than just experience and passion. Leigh decided to link-up with Ology, the UK’s leading coaching group, and undertake extensive training in Toronto, Canada with the Adler School of Professional Coaching.
Leigh’s “golf lesson” has changed his life. He is now expanding his business throughout Derbyshire and Staffordshire helping business owners spend more time on their business rather than in their business.
So confident is Leigh that he can coach other business owners to close the gap between their business aspirations and their current performance, that if the owner is not happy with his recommendations Leigh will refund the initial fee.
Now that’s a lot more than the golf professional promised!
