About Martin Dobbs
2006 proved to be a pivotal year for me. Reaching 50 and, finding myself out of work towards the end of the year, I decided it was time for a new challenge.
My working life to date comprised 32 years in the construction industry, initially in the materials supply side which included 4 years in Dubai, followed by 24 years within the specialist contracting sector the majority, 21 years, at Director level including two roles as MD. Working within both SME and PLC environments I had experienced significant success in growing and developing businesses. I had also seen the other side of the coin and had to deal with the pressures and issues faced by businesses needing restructuring both in terms of people and the systems / processes. It became apparent that, whatever the business, many of the issues faced and the pressures were similar – and that I could make a difference in resolving them.
However I needed more control over my working life to do this to greatest effect and decided that working for myself was the best option. My research showed that a business coaching franchise would enable me to combine my own experience with a proven methodology following the latest best practise principles. I decided I wanted to work with the best and so chose Ology Business Coaching.
As a Business Coach I want to make the differences I mentioned earlier to other businesses – reduce the frustrations experienced by business owners, working with them and their management teams to achieve their personal and commercial goals and make a lasting difference.
To do this I will help you to make the right decisions to move your business forward – I won’t tell you what to do, but will assist with the changes that help you get to where you want to be quicker than you can on your own.
